Nueva obra.

Título/Title: Daños colaterales/Collateral damages.
Técnica/Téchnique: Óleo sobre tela/Oil on canvas.

Año/Year: 2017.

Basado en la fotografía de la fotoperiodista turca de la agencia Dogan Nilüfer Demir/Based on the photograph of the Turkish photojournalist of the agency Dogan Nilüfer Demir.

Francamente no me importó.

When I first saw the photograph of Nilüfer Demir, it hit me a lot. By then my son was two years old. From the first moment I wanted to paint what I saw. It is not a work in which originality prevails, but I thought of a challenge. Frankly I did not care. The image is perfect, because of its hardness and drama, with that dead child, alone and abandoned. On an expressive level I was fascinated by its drama. Loneliness, abandonment ... and generalized guilt. I did not want to change anything, just walk the path to make the image. One way to walk the road, painful.
On the other hand, and at a technical level, I tried to challenge myself to get those shines of water, that dead weight of the corpse accentuating the dramatísmo ... the inert hands ... the face hardly distinguishes ... could be any child ... The face of anyone, even if it is called Aylan Kurdi.
